I believe that among the various countries in the world, the United States is one of the most complicated to obtain citizenship or at least a visa that allows you to stay for a long period of time in the territory.
In my personal case, the reason that prompted me to immigrate to the U.S. was my girlfriend, she's from Chicago, so when we had to choose what to do with our future, I thought it would be easier for both to live in the United States, the land of the opportunities.
Now, I find myself to face to U.S. laws..
My idea was simple, get a job to pay the rent and other charges but the story it was different.
I was here the first three months on a tourist visa, during this time I tried to understand what I should do to get a work visa, and to my great surprise, although I am a qualified chef in an Italian academy of culinary art, there is no way to work legally.
Now, I have to pay almost $ 400 a month for the school, plus the rent plus all other costs, to be allowed to continue to be with my girlfriend, and if my parents had not helped me, I would not have other solutions that go back to Italy.
In April I will have finished my studies, so I'll have two months to find a solution that, according to lawyers with whom I spoke it is only one.. get marry, option number two: return to my country.
